As a climber, I've recently been inspired by climbing motifs, such as this figure 8 knot. I imagine creating an absolutely enormous one, so that a single rope diameter is 14".
Climbing ropes have distinct corded patterns, which create a great opportunity for LED integration. I imagine the light yellow cords to be LED screens that either flash messages or simply send color throughout the length of the sculpture. The dark blue-colored cord would be solar panels on all the sun-facing surfaces so that the sculpture can power itself :)
