Where can projection mapping transport you?
This semester, I was interested in creating a projection mapping project that distorted a living image to create a sense of a strange mirror. Sort of like a fun house mirror that shows a version of yourself that you don't quite believe to be true.
This installation was on the floor at ITP, which I was very adamant about. It is important to me that many people have access to my work, and I believe that the environment contributes to the life of a piece of art.
The portal consists of an iPhone sending live image capture to a computer that processes and distorts the image, which is projected onto a surface that is legible from 2 sides.
